Rob Green's Top 10 (The Pink and Green edition)

Ladies and gentlemen I would like to present to you the top ten reasons the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota is in for a long weekend against the Huskies of Michigan Tech.

#10 Two words, Skating Treadmill

We might as well start with the obvious. I know you're probably sick of hearing it by now just like we're sick of reminding you, but it's true, we have a skating treadmill and the Hostile and Abusive foes from the west don't. You can't argue with results, really what's the Sioux record against Tech since this marvelous investment. Prepare to be skated off the ice.

#9 The Darkness will be in the building

That's right ladies and gentlemen, for all of you have not heard, The Darkness will grace the JMSIA with his presence this weekend. The Huskies record at home with The Darkness in the building is simply remarkable, (atleast it is if you only look at last year). In fact the Huskies record with The Darkness in the building is pretty good no matter where they are playing. There's no way those Notre Dame wanna bes can compete with that type of mojo.

#8 MEg will be in a toga

Honestly I just hope that the home team isn't to distracted. We all know that The Oshie can't resist the sight of half naked women under five feet tall, oops sorry that's half naked men over six feet tall. Well maybe I'll wear my toga too, that way we'll have all of our bases covered.

#7 Their ears will be bleeding thanks to the Second Best Feeling in the world.

I'm not sure how many of you have actually had the "pleasure" to experience the pep band in person, but they are truly special. Trust me when I tell you that hearing them at home, playing for their own team at full volume is very interesting. The home team is use to it, but everybody else, not so much.

#6 Mitch's Misfits

You want a home field advantage well there it is. You can say a lot of things about a lot of fans in a lot of places, but if you want some of the loudest, most inappropriate, not afraid to say anything fans in the WCHA you have to come to the JMSIA. I promise you a couple of the Misfits take more joy in figuring out new ways to offend the opposing team then they do in there own homework. And with The Darkness there, I don't see things getting much better.

#5 Lammy is an idiot

I believe this speaks for it self. I'm happy to see that Lammy started the year good, and I hoping after the thrashing he takes in Houghton, he'll finish the year well but the boy is still an idiot. I have never seen one goalie do so many things that just bluntly makes you stop and ask what was his momma drinking when she was pregnant with him, lead paint. As soon as the goals start rolling for Tech I wouldn't be surprised to see a goalie change by the end of the weekend.

#4 Duncan is going to be slowed down by the weight of his Hobey Baker
Trophy

I'm not even going to mention that he didn't deserve it, or that Eric Ehn probably should of won it or even that TJ Hensick might as well of just bent over a chair bit down on something and closed his eyes. I'm not going to say that, but I will say that last here he wasn't even the most talented player on his own line, probably not even the second most talented. I do have good news for Duncan, this year he might just be the second most talented player on his line.

#3 The Oshie is a pansy

Yeah I said it, The Oshie is a pansy, let's be honest with ourselves the only reason he's still in North Dakota is because he enjoys the view in the locker room and he's not sure if the view will be quite as good when get to the pros. The Oshie isn't here to win, he's here to prove he was better then his line mates from last year. One good hit from Baker and the Oshie will have to big of a crush on him to put forth any type of an effort.

#2 The Sioux are cursed by the ghost of Sitting Bull

It's kind of hard to focus on hockey when you have the ghost of one the greatest Native American warriors ever patrolling your bench. You may not see him but I assure you pink bunch of girly men that he's there and he's not happy.

#1The Dirty factor

And the number one reason North Dakota is in for a long weekend, is that Dirty will be there to cheer for them. In all the time I've known Dirty every time he's been in a building with the Huskies the team he wanted to win didn't. The Huskies must really hate that boy because even when they're the team that he's routing for in the stands, they just can't stand to make him happy. Let's hope that trend continues.

And ladies and gentlemen is scientific proof which can lead us to one conclusion.
Huskies sweep(again).
and dirty goes home crying(again).

wow thats was bad, i would kill myself if i lived in houghton. i think thats in the USA. half of techs guys couldnt sniff oshie and duncs jock. maybe they can be a stick boy for half of the sioux team whe they are in the nhl. you do have 2 good goalies but get ready for a eye opener and a ass kickin or 2 if we are on our gane. you get ranked in the top 15 for the first time in like 20 years and all of a sudden its WATCH OUT FOR THE MIGHTY HUSKIES. oh and please meangirl keep your clothes on. you will scare the sht out of everyone there and make togas NOT COOl as if they were. dirtys a goon but hes one of ours so thats that. heres to a soux sweep, tech scoring a goal or 2. finley killing 2 tech players with 1 check and meangirl keeping her clothes on....scary though..have fun in houghton, saudi arabia;)

good luck tech hope you guys get your sweep.

Boosh said...

Last time I checked hockey was played on top of (solid) water, not under it. Point for Michigan Tech

The Darkness said...

wow some of you Sioux fans need to relax, things aren't that deep.

Anonymous said...

I'll be there...oh yes, I'll be there.

Is it wrong to bust out an overrated chant for a lousy 15th ranked team or whatever the Huskies are? (not like anyone outside of Houghton cares)

MeanEgirl said...

Wow, so this is the secret to getting lots of comments? Throwing out a bunch of insults and making claims and grammatical and spelling errors? I'll take not of that for the future. :)

I can't believe Sioux fans actually read this...

Rob Green, we must talk later.

Congrats on your ranking. It is a big deal and you have earned it. I know that you starve for attention in Houghton, but seriously do you down grade and trash talk every weekend foe? To be the best at hockey is one thing, but to be a class act with classy fans is another. I don't think your ranking will move up after this weekend, but it will move up down the road. Have some respect for yourselves and the Teams you play and it will help the image you are poorly displaying.

Apparently sarcasm is missed by a lot of people on Blogspot. ;)

Anonymous said...

Sarcasm? Come on, the comments about Oshie etc.. how is that sarcasm? If you find this blogspot to be a place where you can vent against the other Teams great players and great hockey program, then go ahead. I honestly thought Gohper fans had raised the bar too high for other WCHA hater fans to reach. But, then again its just sarcasm. You can't win anything with sarcasm, but if it makes you feel better then go ahead and make fun of quality hockey and those that play it.

Boosh said...

Oh no, they're picking on my hockey players :(

I'm going to go hide in the corner and cry becasue the mean old Husky fans made fun of tOshie :(

Have you see the pictures of him in bed with small puppies and other guys? Then you'd understand where it comes from

Anonymous said...

Also congrats on your new ranking, enjoy it before it is gone after this weekend. I'm pretty sure if you went to the SIOUX blog you would not see any UPPER sarcasium as I have seen here. Tell your older sister/mom I said hi. I have been through Houghton/Hankock several times, beautiful country, but your gene pool needs a lifegaurd. SIOUX YA YA

FadeToBlack&Gold said...

Anon, seriously - lighten up and learn to laugh occasionally. This is the failure of internet discussion - it's too difficult to portray the tone of what you are saying.

The Sioux are a talented team, no one in this town is denying it. tDarkness thought he could get a laugh or two out of people with this not-so-serious post, but apparently some people just can't take a joke.

Re: "Congrats on your ranking. It is a big deal and you have earned it. I know that you starve for attention in Houghton."

Honestly, I could care less about our ranking. It means absolutely nothing at this point of the season, and frankly neither does North Dakota's. In the end, whichever team plays a better, more complete game of hockey each night will come out the winner. That's the bottom line.

Sorry you can't seem to find the humor in tDarkness' post. Here's to two good hockey games though.

Calm down there killer huskie guy. That was a little FIGHTING SIOUX sarcasm 4 you, don't take everything so serious. Good luck this weekend, maybe we will talk again on Monday.

The Darkness said...

If you people are so high strung that you don't see the humor in what I was doing you probably shouldn't read this blog anymore. In fact you probably shouldn't listen to anything I ever say ever again. I was being nice, I was holding back because outside of this weekend I actually like North Dakota. I promise you I have said a lot worse about my own team, my school and my friends. Really the worse I said in the entire this is that Duncan wasn't the best player on his line last year. That and the fact that Oshie is a pansy and Lammy is an idiot. At lest two of the three of those comments are true. I also said that Oshie was a great player who destined for the NHL, Duncan may be the second best player on his line this year, and I actually wished Lammy the best of luck outside of this series.

Get over yourselves I stand behind every statement I make even if I can't prove it, i wrote it for a reason, and even if it's not actually serious, I wrote it for a reason.

Most importantly don't think you're special, after this series I will write another post, either poking fun at North Dakota or at Tech, we'll just see how it goes, and next I will be talking about Wisconsin, and I really don't like them at all.

Is your older sister/mom a medium or XL Husky? Ummm...food for thought. Your pep band should put on skates as they seem to blow really good. Have a good weekend cowboy. GIDDY UP!!

The Darkness said...

I'm guess you're from first sentence you trying to suggest that my older sister and mom are the same person, to that i'll simply respond, I'm from Detroit, i'm guessing you're from North Dakota, who do you think is the bigger hick in this picture. Second sentence makes no sense. and finally I only let ladies call me Cowboy, I don't swing that way, you might want to go try Oshie.

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about hicks? Don't get to defensive, it was only sarcasm.. Who cares if your from Detroit, your still a Huskie? Good luck this weekend.

Anonymous said...

I have to admit that I am very impressed by the Tech fans knowledge of the Sioux roster. I can honestly say that I can't even name 1 player off the Tech roster. Is there anyone even worth knowing? That's too bad...maybe Tech will get a little recognition this weekend if they stand close enough to the spotlight that shines on the #1 ranked Fighting Sioux!

Donald Dunlop said...

And once again the UND fanbase proves it is the absolute king of oversensitivity.

They're just upset because their school LOST their lawsuit about their disrespectful, purloined and stupid nickname.

Tech 4-1 and 5-0 this weekend.

Word of the Weekend: Overrated

Anonymous said...

Why is it "oversensitive" when we say something, but only "sarcasm" when you do? Get real!
BTW, get your facts straight....UND DID NOT LOSE in court, it was a settlement! Know what you are talking about if you make a comment. Goes to prove the intelligence of Techies.
Point for UND.
4-0, and 5-1? you are frickin high! UND is 2-0-1, with no goals scored against. BTW, that comes against defending champ Michigan State, and #4 BC(on the road) and Northeastern. That's about as tough a schedule you can start with. Good luck Techies, you're gonna need lots of it.
This is kinda cool talkin $hit with you guys...you haven't had much to talk about in the past cuz your teams have been so terrible. Where does "the darkness" nickname come from? The cellar that u guys are so used to?

DC said...

MEg: TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF. Rob, you too.

This post rocks.

Donald Dunlop said...

I said 4-1 for Tech?

Gawd I'm an idiot.

MeanEgirl said...

Anon @ 4:57 PM: You're cute. :)

Donald: I miss you.
